Atarax (hydroxyzine) is an antihistamine, meaning it reduces the effects of histamine in the body. Counteracting histamine helps manage inflammation. Atarax also has sedative properties by affecting activity in the central nervous system. This medication is commonly used to treat allergic skin reactions such as hives or contact dermatitis. Additionally, Atarax is sometimes prescribed to help manage anxiety or to enhance the effects of anesthesia before surgery.
To comply with Canadian International Pharmacy Association regulations you are permitted to order a 3-month supply or the closest package size available based on your personal prescription. read more

Seek medical attention immediately if any of the following occur:
Restless muscle movements in the eyes, tongue, jaw, or neck
Confusion
Seizures (convulsions)
Signs of an allergic reaction (hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat)
Older adults may have an increased risk of side effects (particularly drowsiness, confusion, and an increased fall risk) and should use Atarax with caution.
Atarax is commonly prescribed for:
Allergic Skin Reactions: Helps alleviate itching and irritation from conditions like hives and contact dermatitis
Anxiety: Helps with the short-term management of anxiety symptoms
Anesthesia Support: Administered alongside other medications to enhance sedation during medical procedures
Take Atarax exactly as prescribed by a healthcare provider.
Swallow tablets with a full glass of water.
Use a proper measuring device rather than a household spoon for liquid formulations.
If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered unless it is close to the next scheduled dose. Do not double the dose.
In case of an overdose, seek emergency medical assistance immediately. Symptoms may include extreme drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, tremors (uncontrolled shaking), or loss of consciousness.
Do not use Atarax if pregnant, as it may harm the unborn baby.
The effects of Atarax on breastfeeding are unclear; consult a doctor before use.
Avoid alcohol, as it can enhance side effects such as drowsiness.
Be cautious when driving or operating heavy machinery, as Atarax can impair alertness.
